Axugaem2 V 0.8.6a (The Uguupdate~)

Hi folks! This devlog contains two sets of patchnotes: one for version 0.8.6a, and one for 0.8.6 (which I posted to the Axu2 discord last night.) Version 0.8.6a is a tiny bugfix patch, whereas 0.8.6 is pretty close to a whole mini-update, so scroll down if you want to see the real interesting new stuff!

Patch 0.8.6a - February 14th, 2025

ADDITIONS

-The game now has a custom icon in the game folder (sort of. It's a shortcut to the game.exe, but it is functionally the same.)

BUGIXES

~Softlocks~

-Fixed a softlock caused by talking to Siraly from the left in Skycastle when asking her to do something about Kortis.

-The Kroat carriage in the Seaview District should no longer knock you into walls and get you stuck in them.

~Exploits~

-Fixed being able to get infinite Blood Vials and Rotwald Tunics from the cabinet in the Rotwald Manor Crypt.

~Other~

-The bottle of pheromones on Anya's basement table is no longer replaced by a candle if you start dating her without also dating Nell. This will allow you to access the new Anya vore content as intended.

-Fixed Nell cycling between random damaged character sprites during the Anya escort segment in Costa Del Nyan if she's at her highest weight tier.

-Fixed fat Nell switching to skinny Nell after you talk to her the first time in Natasha's bathroom.

-Upon completion, the quest 'Evelyn Jr.' will now properly show up as completed in the Quest Log. For saves where this quest has already been completed, interacting with Evelyn's dolls in the Tent will apply this fix.

-Fixed a couple of minor bugs in the Capital Bakery.

-Fixed one of the winged trackers on the second floor of the Deep Root Factory reappearing if you leave and re-enter the map.

-Bubble Kelp now works properly when used in the Cutscene Buffet.

-Fixed one of Lani's weight tiers not showing up properly on the Cutscene Buffet map when switched to.

Patch 0.8.6 - The Uguupdate - February 14th, 2025

ADDITIONS

~Anyageddon~

-Added a new final Anya quest that can be unlocked if you've completed the quest Feline Diplomacy, and fed Anya enough plushcakes (it should take about 15 total as of this patch. If you've unlocked the Shae Manor Cellar already, it will only take 5 more.)

-Added a new area to the Del Nyan caves that can only be explored after you've accepted the new Anya quest.

-This area contains a lot of slime enemies, a NEW VORE ENEMY, and plenty of loot and little secrets to uncover.

-ANYA IS NOW DATEABLE under the following circumstances: if you are single or dating Nell, and if you complete the new Anya quest and all of its prerequisites.

-Anya does not join you in the Tent since she's a career-oriented girl, BUT she does give Claire a powerful MP/TP regen buff (with her face on it) every time you visit her!

-Dating Anya allows you to do many things with her, such as:

-An exercise minigame that can help her lose weight!
-A repeatable version of the new Anya quest.... that can help her regain weight lost through exercising!

-Something spicy involving a conspicuous bottle sitting on her table in the Cellar.

-Have her join you on the Vespa/Leslie double date (if you haven't done it by that point.)

-Feed her plushcakes for the fun of it, or to help her regain lost weight.

-Track your various Anya-related stats and read a little summary of your relationship as written by her.

-A couple more Anya-related activities are planned for a future patch. They are: having tea and chatting with her; and walking around Del Nyan with her.

-Added MANY new Anya faces and sprites, as well as a few new Claire faces (and a few new Claire sprites) for good measure!

~The Cutscene Buffet~

-CUTSCENE VIEWER CONTENT IS HERE!

-Replayable versions of several cutscenes from throughout the game have been added to the Penoculus Archives. The Lani/Nell cluster is currently the most filled out at this point, but I've tried to add a little something to every other cluster as well, with more to come!

-A new game mode is now available to choose at the start of the game: the CUTSCENE BUFFET.

-This mode is a direct cutscene viewer for those who want to see the game's fanservice cutscenes in one place, whether that be because they've seen them already in story mode or they're not looking to commit 40+ hours to the task.

-Upon choosing Buffet Mode, you will not be able to play through the game's story. Instead, you'll be limited to the Cutscene Buffet, a slightly upgraded version of the Penoculus Archives map.

-In the Cutscene Buffet, all cutscenes that have been added to the archives so far will be available to view regardless of whether or not you've seen them before. The cutscene viewer is still a work in progress, and more cutscenes will be added to the club in future patches and updates! Stuffing/vore minigames such as the Iron Gut contests and the Linda rampages are planned for inclusion, as is the Vore Gauntlet from Karen's Arena (eventually), and more!

-You'll also be able to change routes (between Lani and Nell or Evelyn and Caldryn, namely), alter characters' weights by talking to them, and set who you want to be dating who (Anya dating functionality isn't currently implemented due to it being a recent addition and having no impact on any of the present cutscenes.) Changing routes will change what cutscenes are available to view. Furthermore, all of these changes will show up in whatever cutscenes they normally would during story mode (for example, if you set Lani's weight to its highest tier: this will NOT show up in cutscenes that take place at a point in the story before Lani's highest weight tier has become available, but it WILL show up everywhere else, and so on.)

-The Buffet has a few other goodies to find, such as burp-inducing fruits and bloating items. HOWEVER, it does not and will not have every single fetishy interaction in the game. It's for major cutscenes only, and you are encouraged to play through story mode if you're interested in any of the relationship content or smaller scenes throughout the game.

~Other~

-Cross now learns a new skill, Intercept, at level 18!

-Intercept is a Magic skill that costs 80 MP. It applies the effect of Cover to the user, but also applies the Counterattack and Magic Reflect states for the duration of the turn it's used. Like Cover, it has very high speed priority.

-Adjusted the description of the skill Cover to mention its high speed priority.

-For existing saves where Cross is already level 18, you can learn the skill by going to the Debug Room and talking to Bolero.

-Several new Travel Gems have been added to the game!

-Travel Gems for Skazili's Hut, Windrush Canyon, and the Kalvarr Relic Museum can now be obtained by helping Mei (the hungry oni who you can rescue from beneath Westhaven) eat enough surprise fruit to gain weight! She has three weight tiers beyond her base weight, and she'll give you a new Travel Gem each time she reaches a new one!

-If you've already gotten Mei to her highest weight tier, you can get all three gems at once upon entering the world map.

-Travel Gems for Skullbutter's Circus, Penoculus, and Khur have also been added!

-The Skullbutter's Circus gem is sold by the Cathix Amulet boutique, just to the right as you enter the circus tent.

-The Penoculus gem can be found at the back of the Archives after completing the Caretakers questline.

-The Khur gem can be obtained by Nemset upon visiting her in the middle of Khur following the events of Capital Bridge.

-Each Travel Gem now has a unique icon in your inventory to help set them apart.

-Ice/Water, Thunder, Wind, and Healing Staves now have distinct icons as well!

TWEAKS

-Made some quality of life tweaks to help make the new Anya content easier to access.

-Fixed how the 'same offering to the goddess' quest shows up in the quest log.

-Reduced the number of plushcakes you need to feed Anya to unlock the Shae Manor Cellar.
-Reduced the cost of plushcakes from 1000 to 800 G.

-Added some new Debug Options to the Training Sim item!

-Choosing 'Sparky, get this picture off my screen' will attempt to erase any graphics that are stuck on the screen after a cutscene (please do still report any instances of this in the Discord, thanks!)

-Choosing 'Sparky, my followers are causing problems' will reset the move routes of player followers. This is mainly to ensure that any lingering effects from using the 'Let's Go Together' skill are offset, but there may be other applications for it.

-The Training Sim now has a 'unique' icon in the inventory (it's just a generic Travel Gem Icon, but since none of the Travel Gems are using that exact icon I thought eh, why not?)

-Fixed and fleshed out some stuff in the Debug Room

-Ivy now lets you change Cross's approval.

-Also fixed a bug where setting Vespa's approval to 0 or 50 would affect Arci's approval instead.

-Elmira now lets you instantly change characters' weights.

-As always, DO NOT SAVE AFTER USING THE DEBUG ROOM. Or, if you must, make a note of it and don't use that playthrough to report future bugs. I know this sounds counterintuitive, but the debug room allows you to choose options that you can't in a regular playthrough, so the switches elsewhere in the game aren't always set up to account for that. So please, please, at the very least, do not post a bug report saying that Nell isn't enormous in some scene at the beginning of the game when she's not supposed to be. Thanks!

-Increased Cross's base MAT and his MAT gain (he's a magical construct who uses spells, so it made no sense to have that stat be so underwhelming.)

-Arciella will now learn a very slightly upgraded version of Cat Scan when you return to the world map after she wakes up and rejoins the party post-khur. This new skill replaces the Kortis icon with one of Arci, and it generates 5 more TP on use!

-Both Cat Scan skills now have an attack element, meaning they will automatically reveal an enemy's weakness/resistance to a specific element on use. Kortis' version of the skill reveals an enemy's weakness/resistance to Shadow damage, while Arci's version reveals the enemy's weakness/resistance to Holy damage.

-Each of Arci's flower weapons now has a unique attack element. This is mostly for fun, but it can help reveal more cat scan info if you're curious.

-Clark can now use his Repair skill outside of battle (the self-heal side of it, I mean.)

-Adjusted the speed priority of the Wind, Tornado, Stone, and Quake skills. Wind and Tornado will now hit slightly faster than before, and Stone and Quake will hit slower. The descriptions of these skills have been updated to reflect these changes.

-Also adjusted the Beam and Starlight skills. Their negative speed priority has been removed, but their base damage has been reduced to 300, and their mana costs have been increased (from 17 to 20 and 65 to 80.) Their chance to blind has also been decreased from 40 to 33%.

-Finally, increased the damage of the Chaos and Armageddon skills to from 300 + 2x user's MAT to 300 + 3x user's MAT, and increased their mana costs from 15 to 18 and 60 to 70.

-Buffed a couple of items in the Biri Shop:

-The Scale Shield now increases the wearer's Nature resistance by 20%, and prevents debuffing of the wearer's DEF stat.

-Biri's Charm now increases the wearer's Nature resistance by 10%, and their Poison/Venom resistance by 25%.

-Increased the chance to encounter Cavern Slimes in the Del Nyan Caves.

-Slightly reduced the overall encounter rate in the Del Nyan Caves Pit and Lava Pit maps.

-In porting various older cutscenes to the Penoculus Archives/Cutscene Club, I've taken the time to upgrade them with some of the newly added sfx and such. They should now be more enjoyable and memorable, both as replays and during the story wherever you'd naturally encounter them!

-Feeding Mei Surpris Fruits is now a more interesting experience, with sound effects and descriptive dialogue that change as she gains weight!

-Updated Lamel's sprite to better represent his new look and just his vibe in general.

BUGFIXES

~Softlocks~

-Losing to Rowena in the Penoculus Gauntlet via a full-party vore wipe will now no longer lead to a softlock.

-Fixed being able to walk on thin air in the Palace of Light and get yourself softlocked through hookshotting the wrong way (for real this time.)

-Also fixed a graphical glitch in the Palace of Light 2F map where the floor was replaced with the gooey tiles from the Sunken Starship maps.

-Cleaned up how the events in Amber's Place are programmed. They should no longer lead to repeating menus and potential softlocks.

~Other~

-Fixed issues with the One Weird Night quest leading to sprite and formation glitches. Please report if you experience any persisting bugs with this quest. I believe I've come up with a fix that can be safely applied to similar parts of the game, but more testing is needed to be sure.

-Fixed being able to leave Blightwood with Evelyn or Caldryn in the party prior to permanently recruiting them, specifically when they mention not being able to leave just yet.

-Fixed the player showing up as Claire instead of Vyle/Esther during their memories in Rotwald Manor.

-If Nell is at her new highest weight tier during the Leslie double date quest, she will now appear as such throughout, instead reverting to her previous highest weight tier midway through.

-Fixed Vespa's Devour skill having a chance to change the scene that plays in the second part of the double date quest if used on the lash plant that appears during the potato golem fight.

-Fixed Vespa's Belch skill having a similar effect during that fight.

-Fixed the Discount Special having a very small chance to have this effect as well.

-Fixed a couple of miscellaneous instances of other party members having dialogue when items and skills are used on Vespa during the potato golem fight.

-The potato golem is now much more vulnerable to Vespa's Devour skill.

-The Slime Belch skill used by Mallory and a few other enemies no longer ignores DEF, meaning it should hit less disproportionately hard. This was an artifact of the skill being a copy/paste of a regular belch skill, which ignores DEF due to dealing Sonic damage. Since Slime Belch deals Nature rather than Sonic damage, the DEF-ignoring aspect of its damage formula should have been removed to begin with.

-Fixed the Armageddon skill dealing physical damage instead of nonelemental damage.

-Fixed a bunch of small graphical glitches in the game's iconset. The icons for the Fancy-Pants Ring, Mercy's Halo and a couple other similar items no longer have little black bars at the bottom, and the icons featuring party members' faces are now properly aligned.

KNOWN/POTENTIAL ISSUES

-Since Anya is freshly dateable as of this update, it is possible that some cutscenes and quests have some minor bugs due to not being programmed to recognize her as a girlfriend yet. If you encounter any strange pacing or missing dialogue in cutscenes, let me know and I'll fix that up asap!
